Veteran Actor Taiwo Hassan Ogogo Reportedly Dies

Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has reportedly passed away.

The latest report of his alleged death comes days after his family raised concerns over his health condition and appealed for urgent medical assistance.

Ogogo’s daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, had earlier disclosed that the 66-year-old actor was battling stage-four cancer and appealed to medical professionals and well-wishers for help in securing appropriate treatment.

Kira had also explained that her father was considered too physically fragile to travel abroad for treatment, despite having an Indian visa.

Reports further indicated that the family was seeking specialists who could manage his condition locally.

The development came shortly after the family debunked an earlier social media report claiming that Ogogo had died, urging the public to disregard the report as false.

However, a fresh report circulating on Sunday, August 23, has again claimed that the veteran actor has died after battling the illness.

The latest report is yet to be independently confirmed by an official family statement.

Ogogo remains one of the respected figures in the Yoruba film industry, with decades of contributions as an actor, producer and filmmaker.
