Gospel Music Community Mourns Toluwanisings as Family Confirms His Death

The Nigerian gospel music industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of gospel singer and minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.

The singer’s family confirmed his death in a statement shared on his social media accounts on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, announcing that he passed away in the early hours of the day.

The family described the late musician as a beloved husband, family member and gospel minister, while appealing to the public to remember his wife and other loved ones in their prayers during this difficult period.

It added that details of his funeral arrangements would be made public in due course.

The announcement has sparked emotional reactions from fans, fellow gospel artistes and other Nigerians, many of whom have taken to social media to express sadness over his passing.

Among those who reacted was lawyer and public interest advocate Pelumi Olajengbesi, who expressed grief over the loss and called for an end to untimely deaths.

Gospel artistes and entertainers have also joined in mourning the singer, describing his death as a painful loss to the gospel music community.

Toluwanisings was known for his gospel songs and energetic worship performances, which earned him recognition among lovers of Christian music.

His death comes months after he and members of his music team reportedly survived a road accident involving a heavy-duty trailer in July 2026.

However, the circumstances surrounding his death have not been officially disclosed by his family.

As tributes continue to pour in, the family has urged the public to keep his wife, relatives and loved ones in their thoughts and prayers.
