Ifelodun Council Hails Tinubu, AbdulRazaq Over Security Boost, Approves Monitored Oreke Mining Operations
Ifelodun Local Government has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for their support for security, while approving the monitored partial reopening of the Oreke mining site.

The commendation was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Ifelodun Local Government Chairman, Abdulquadri Jimba, following the council’s monthly security meeting held on Monday at the Local Government Secretariat in Share.

The meeting brought together security stakeholders to review the security situation across Ifelodun and assess measures aimed at sustaining peace and safety in the Local Government.
According to the statement, the Chairman appreciated the security agencies for their commitment and the positive results recorded in the last two months in maintaining peace across the area.

The Council also acknowledged President Tinubu’s approval for the establishment of a Brigade Command in Omu-Aran, describing the development as a significant boost to security coverage in the area.
It further welcomed the recruitment of additional personnel into the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, noting that increased manpower would strengthen security operations and improve the protection of communities.
The Council also commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his consistent and timely support for security institutions, which it said had continued to strengthen security efforts across Kwara State.
Meanwhile, the Chairman approved the partial opening of the Oreke mining site as part of efforts to balance security concerns with responsible economic activities.

The approval is subject to proper monitoring and scrutiny, with trucks operating from the site to be monitored and made available for necessary inspection to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
The Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies while creating opportunities for responsible economic activities capable of improving the livelihoods of residents.
