Okoye Targets Bigger Season With Udinese, Hails Serie A Quality
Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has praised Serie A as one of the world’s best leagues while targeting a stronger season with Udinese and continued progress with Nigeria.

Okoye made the remarks in an interview after an impressive campaign with Udinese, where he kept 10 clean sheets in 30 league appearances last season.
The Nigerian goalkeeper is now targeting a stronger finish with Udinese next season while also maintaining his ambitions with the Super Eagles.
Okoye believes Udinese has the quality, coaching staff and structure needed to help players improve and compete at a higher level.
He also stressed the importance of taking the new season one game at a time.
The 26-year-old further praised Spain goalkeeper Unai Simón for his performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, noting that modern goalkeeping requires composure, good decision-making, situational awareness and attention to detail.
