Kwara AFAN Hails AbdulRazaq’s Sardauna Honour, Calls for Stronger Focus on Agriculture
Kwara AFAN congratulates Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on his installation as Sardauna of Ilorin and urges renewed attention to agriculture and the welfare of farmers.

NewsmongerA celebratory graphic marking the conferment of the Sardauna of Ilorin title on Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Kwara State Chapter, has congratulated Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on his installation as the Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate, describing the occasion as an opportunity to renew attention to the agricultural sector.
In a statement signed by the Kwara AFAN Chairman, Engr. Shuaib Ajibola Salman, the association said the traditional honour should also serve as a reminder of the important role farmers play in the state’s economy and food security.
Engr. Salman said agriculture remains central to the wellbeing of Kwara communities, stressing the need for continued government support for farmers through improved access to farm inputs, mechanisation, financing, rural infrastructure, storage and markets.
AFAN, is an umbrella body of about 28 commodities association with over 40,000 registered farmers across the 16 local government areas in the state.
He congratulated Governor AbdulRazaq on the historic recognition by the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, noting that the occasion has brought together the traditional institution, government and people of the state.
According to him, the farming community in Kwara expects the administration to sustain efforts aimed at improving agricultural productivity and creating better economic opportunities for farmers.
Kwara AFAN also acknowledged ongoing agricultural interventions in the state, with recent reports highlighting efforts around mechanisation, farm inputs, irrigation, livestock and agro-processing.
The association further expressed its appreciation to the Emir of Ilorin for the honour bestowed on the Governor and prayed for peace, unity and prosperity across Kwara State.
Engr. Salman wished Governor AbdulRazaq wisdom, strength and good health as he takes on the responsibilities associated with the new traditional title.
The title was earlier announced as a recognition of his leadership, commitment to peace and unity, and developmental efforts across Kwara State.
