INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF REGISTRAR

PREAMBLE

The Governing Council of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun announces that the position of Registrar will become vacant on 27th January 2027.

Therefore, in accordance with the provisions of the University’s Establishment Act (2023) and the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1993, as amended, the Governing Council invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position.

THE UNIVERSITY

The Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, Osun State, was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2021 to expand access to quality university education and train medical personnel to strengthen the provision of medical services in Nigeria. The University is a specialised institution focused on Health, Nutrition, and Medical Sciences, located along Ora Road in Ila-Orangun, Osun State.

THE UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR

The Registrar is a Principal Officer and the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the University. He/she shall perform such other duties as the Council and the Vice-Chancellor may from time to time require him/her to do.

He/She shall be the Secretary to the Governing Council, the Senate, Congregation, Convocation and other statutory committees in the University. He/She must be dedicated and loyal to the institution through the Council in the discharge of his/her duties.

THE CANDIDATE: QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The candidate must possess the following qualifications/skills:

  1. Possess a good honours degree with minimum of Second Class Lower Division. Possession of an additional postgraduate degree from a recognized university will be an added advantage.

  2. Be a Deputy Registrar with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience on the post in a recognized University.

  3. Must have at least 15 years’ experience in the university system.

  4. Have considerable international exposure through trainings and workshops.

  5. Have vast knowledge in University administration and possess a proven record of managerial and administrative leadership to manage the required dynamism of the Registry.

  6. Possess excellent skills in Information Communication and Technology to drive expectations of a 21st-century institution.

  7. Possess certification and/or training in Information Communication and Technology and can proficiently use relevant university management applicable software.

  8. Be a member of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) and/or other recognized and relevant professional associations.

  9. Be not more than 60 years old by January 27, 2027.

TENURE AND CONDITION OF SERVICE

The Registrar shall hold office on such terms and conditions as specified in the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun Establishment Act 2023 and the Universities (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1993, as amended, and as applicable to Nigerian Federal Universities, as may be determined by the Federal Government from time to time.
