Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, announced the presidential approval in a statement released in the nation's capital.
The Minister stated that the newly absorbed staff were previously engaged by parent associations to fill teaching gaps.
According to the Ministry of Education, all affected personnel underwent a verification exercise prior to their formal absorption.
The federal government expects the recruitment drive to improve learning outcomes and educational standards in secondary schools.
Details regarding the deployment schedule for the newly recruited teachers were not immediately disclosed.
The Ministry of Education is expected to issue further instructions to successful candidates through official channels.
