The couple joined the Nigeria Police Force and met in Kano, where their professional journey soon blossomed into a lifelong partnership.
They got married in 1990, building a family while serving the nation in the same demanding profession.
Their story reached another historic milestone in 2022, when both were appointed Commissioners of Police on the same day.
This made them the first husband-and-wife duo in the history of the Nigeria Police Force to attain the rank of Commissioner of Police on the same day.
Their careers continued to rise. Patrick Kehinde Longe retired as a Commissioner of Police in 2023, while Yetunde Longe rose to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police before retiring in 2024.
Beyond the uniforms and ranks, their journey stands as a rare example of two people who shared not only a marriage but also a lifetime of commitment to public service.
From meeting in Kano to making history together, the Longes have left a remarkable mark on the Nigeria Police Force.
